<div class="paragraph">
<div>
I read this on the <a href="http://www.womenswellnessyork.co.uk/moon-tree-blog-page/">Moon Tree</a> blog this week - what inspiring thoughts...</div>
<div>
</div>
<div>
"Feb 2nd is Imbolc and as the Sun grows stronger, Springs first stirrings can be felt.</div>
<div>
Imbolc is a Celtic fire festival and commemorates the changing of
the Goddess from Crone to Maiden and celebrates the first signs of
Spring as energy returns to the surface and the Sun begins to build it’s
strength again.</div>
</div>
</div>
You may notice a few shoots popping their heads, and you may notice a
few buds on the trees, it’s a time to dust yourself off and begin to
put into place a few things to support your energy, health and
wellbeing.<br />
Imbolc brings new projects and new inspirations into our view and we happily welcome green back into our world."<br />
So here is my Imbolc inspired work from this week to accompany this and inspire me onto my yoga mat to give thanks for lighter longer days full of promise ...<br />

This pastel p<span id="goog_988319954"></span><span id="goog_988319955"></span>ainting started off as a charcoal drawing but the lure of those sticks of colour soon won and the pastels came into play. I wanted to create a dark background on this piece to make the colours of the flowers stand out. I really enjoyed using similar dark tones together to create the deeper passages...<br />

For this commission I worked from a selection of photographs of the flowers as the wedding took place up in Scotland. It has now gone off to the framers, I hope they love it...<br />

I have painted this with oil on paper which is my favourite combination at the moment. I have been playing with it digitally too with the idea of printing it onto silk as a scarf. I think that this would make an ideal gift for the mother of the bride and groom. So exciting!<br />

When my florist Carmen suggested this idea I couldn't understand why it hadn't already been done. A special day celebrated with flowers and then captured in a painting is such a great way to preserve your memories. Here goes...<br />
